Venice Pizza is an exhibition curatedby Nick Deakin. My contribution to the exhibition was a conversation with Nick on May 21, 2022 sat outside Bragazzi’s café on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield.
This exhibition aims to coax alternate ways of thinking about everyday, vernacular street graphics and their dynamism. Venice Pizza intends to challenge our understanding, attitudes, awareness and experience of the environment and the cultural and political conditions that inform our sense of identity in the everyday. Significantly, this exhibition marks an important shift from thinking of street graphics as static objects to understanding them as events and foregrounding their pluralism as ongoing moments.
